Cletrac
The Cleveland Motor Plow Co. was formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1916 by Rollin White. The first tractor produced by the company was the little Cletrac Model R, a 10hp crawler with enlosed engine and modern, angular styling. In 1918 the company changed its name to the Cleveland Tractor Co. and several new models soon appeared. One of these, the Model W, became the first crawler tractor to be tested at the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory (in August 1920). Cletrac focused almost exclusively on crawler designs, producing around 75 different models over the years, although they did produced one model of wheeled tractor labelled "The General". In 1933, following Caterpillar's example, diesel engines were introduced as an option in Cletrac crawlers. In 1944 the company became part of the Oliver Corporation and the Cletrac name passed into history.
